LT Select vs. LT Media

Two paths.
One standard.

Both imprints produce books to the same professional level. The difference is in how we work together — and what we're each willing to bet on your book.

LT Select — Hybrid
We believe in
your book.

LT Select manuscripts are chosen. We read your submission and decide if it's right for the imprint. If it is, you pay a reduced production fee — $499 — and we take 15% of net royalties. We're betting on the book alongside you. Everything is produced to the same standard as our literary imprint.

LT Media — Full Service
You own
everything.

LT Media is a pure production service. You pay a flat fee, we produce your book professionally, you keep 100% of royalties and all rights. No selection process, no royalty share, no ongoing relationship — just a book made well. If LT Select isn't the right fit, LT Media almost certainly is.

85%
Your share of net royalties

Net royalties are calculated after KDP printing and distribution costs — typically $3–5 per paperback copy sold. You receive 85% of that net figure. LT Select receives 15%.

On a $16.99 paperback selling through Amazon KDP, the net is roughly $4.50 after print costs. Your royalty per copy: approximately $3.82. Ours: $0.68. Transparent, fair, and clearly stated before you sign anything.

Royalty statements are issued quarterly. There are no hidden deductions, no mysterious fees, no reserve against returns beyond what KDP itself holds.

The Process

From submission
to bookshelf.

Clear stages, no guesswork. You know where your book is at every point.

01
Submit

Send us your manuscript and a brief description. We read everything personally. You'll hear back within two weeks — either a selection offer or an honest explanation of why it's not the right fit for LT Select.

02
Agreement

If selected, we send a simple, plain-English agreement. It states the fee, the royalty split, your rights, and how either party can exit the arrangement. You are under no obligation to sign.

03
Production

Editing first — developmental, then line. You approve every change. Then cover design, interior formatting, and proof review. Nothing goes to KDP until you've seen and approved the final files.

04
Publish

Your ISBN is registered to LT Select as publisher of record. We upload to KDP and verify the proof copy. Your book goes live in the LT Select catalogue. Royalties begin accruing from the first sale.

On Selection

LT Select is not a vanity press. We do not accept every submission. We read manuscripts and look for commercial fiction that is well-crafted, marketable, and worth putting our name on.

If your manuscript is not selected for LT Select, we will tell you clearly and — if appropriate — suggest whether LT Media might be a better fit. A rejection from LT Select is not a judgment on the quality of your work, only on whether it fits the imprint.

We are pointed toward indie authors without agents, and toward first-time authors who want professional production without paying full LT Media rates.

On Rights & Term

You retain copyright. Always. LT Select holds a limited license to produce, distribute, and sell the book under the LT Select imprint. The ISBN is registered to LT Select as publisher of record — if you republish independently after exit, you will need a new ISBN.

The initial term is two years from publication date. After that, the arrangement continues on a rolling basis. Either party may exit with 90 days written notice. LT Select's 15% royalty applies to all sales made during the active term — there is no clawback of past earnings, but there is no early exit from the two-year minimum without mutual agreement.

On exit, any royalties earned but not yet paid are settled within 30 days. Your cover files and edited manuscript are yours to keep regardless of how or when the arrangement ends.

bet on.
